OUR MISSION

Our mission at the Utilicast Foundation is to ensure that underprivileged youth have access to the resources they need to be successful. We do this by combining our technical expertise and funding to ensure that undeserved communities have the technology and energy security needed to help the next generation thrive.

Boys & Girls Club Intern Technology Labs

At Utilicast, we are committed to enhancing technology education and digital literacy within our communities. For the past four years, we have proudly staffed 12 technology lab interns at Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis (BGCI) sites. These dedicated interns have played a crucial role in addressing technology education barriers and equipping young minds with essential tech skills. By providing hands-on learning experiences, we are preparing these students for future careers in a technology-driven world and ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed in an increasingly digital landscape. We would like to thank those 12 interns whose efforts have significantly advanced our educational goals and broadened our impact.

Our collaboration with BGCI highlights the importance of technology education to bridge the digital divide. By ensuring all children have access to modern technology and resources, we are fostering an equitable learning environment. This initiative not only prepares students for the job market of tomorrow, but also introduces them to innovative and engaging ways of learning. Enhancing digital literacy helps students navigate the digital world safely and effectively, while also sparking their creativity and critical thinking skills. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with BGCI and are excited about the continued collaboration and future projects!

Boys & Girls Club Website Redevelopment Project

Through prolonged contact and interaction with BGCI and their operations, Utilicast identified an aspect for improvement that serves as the cornerstone for all BGC operations: their website. A quick analysis of the site revealed dated information, barriers to accessing information, and lack of element functionality. Recognizing the website as the front and face of all operations, Utilicast offered to fund and manage a comprehensive website redevelopment to ensure it contains accurate information, is navigable, and user-friendly.

This initiative has updated the website to reflect new leadership, communication channels, club functionality, and programming. By restructuring the site map and creating new multimedia content, we have improved user navigation and showcased the vibrant life within the clubs. The design adheres to BGCI’s branding guidelines, while enhancing communication with stakeholders and attracting potential supporters. Additionally, integrating new functionalities and digital tools has streamlined club operations and communications, increasing the organization’s overall efficiency. This website refresh accurately captures the impact and effects of the BGCI on their surrounding communities in a modern, impactful, and thoughtful display.

LED Lighting Retrofit Project for Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco

June 2nd, 2022

Utilicast is proud to partner with the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco and Lovelight Solutions to replace the lighting at their Mission Clubhouse location with energy-efficient LEDs.

The project started in August of 2021 and is expected to achieve the following key benefits:

  • Lower energy bills for lighting by approximately 53%.
  • Reduce maintenance costs by freeing up building staff for other higher priority projects.
  • Improve lighting to create fewer errors and greater productivity as well as increased safety.
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by avoiding approximately 15,018 kg of emissions per year.

Utilicast appreciates the opportunity to serve and give back to the community where our clients and consultants reside. This is one of several projects Utilicast has worked on for Boys and Girls Clubs around the U.S.

Maggie Lewis, CEO and Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis describes two special projects where Utilicast partnered with her fantastic team to help the kids of our community.

Utilicast Golfs for the Kids

May 1st, 2021

Utilicast recently had the opportunity to participate in the 38th annual Fore the Kids golf outing to benefit the youth of Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis.  Although our team didn’t take home any of the top prize hardware, we were excited to participate in this great event supporting these amazing kids.  We look forward to continuing our work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis throughout the fall.

Utilicast Partners With Boys and Girls Clubs

March 1st, 2021

Utilicast is excited to partner with Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis to help support our local community during these uncertain times.

We kicked off the partnership by organizing supply bags so that 200 children can have their own art and school supplies during their summer program.

Utilicast also donated two Kaivac Sanitation Machines to support two of the five clubs that opened last week. We are so grateful to be in a position to support the important work the Boys and Girls Clubs are doing in our community, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them.
